TUSLA Regulatory Inspection Report 2019 – Shine Early Learning Unit

26th February 2019

The Tusla Early Years Inspectorate carries out inspections of Early Years Services under Section 58(J) of the Child Care Act 1991 (as inserted by Section 92 of the Child and Family Agency Act 2013). The Shine Centre Early Learning Unit (ELU) was inspected on the 26 th February 2019, the inspection was unannounced and focused on assessing the ELU’s compliance with the Childcare Act 1991 (Early Years Services) Regulations 2016 and Childcare Act 1991 (Early Years Services) (Amendment) Regulations 2016. The Inspection focused on regulations under two themes; Governance, and Safety.

The following areas of the service were subject to inspection:

  • Premises
  • Staffing Levels
  • Methodology
  • Health, Welfare and Child Development
  • Safeguarding Health, Safety & Welfare of the Child
  • Infection Control
  • Safe Sleep Policy
  • Fire Safety

I am pleased to inform our clients, service users and families that the Shine Early Learning Unit service was found to be fully compliant with all matters examined during the inspection with no change to our registration status.

Extract from Tulsa Letter dated May 17 th 2019

“ your service was found to be fully compliant with all matters examined during the aforementioned inspection. I wish to confirm that there is no change to your registration status. The Panel has made a decision that your service will remain registered pursuant to Article 58 D (5) & (11) of the Child & Family Agency Act 2013.”
