Kieran Kennedy of The Shine Centre for Autism has played a key role in setting up a new Autism Course for the parents of newly diagnosed children with autism. The course runs for 12 weeks and covers vital areas such as understanding autism, education and entitlements. Both Kieran and Alma Carroll (Deputy Manager Shine ELU) lecture on the course and the programme is endorsed by the NPSA (National Parents & Siblings Alliance).
The programme runs in the College of Commerce from 6pm – 9pm each Tuesday. The current course is full with another course planned for early 2015. See details below.

This a course for parents of young children with Autistic Spectrum Disorders (A.S.D) and those that have recently learned that their child is on the autistic spectrum.
The course content is based on the needs of parents as evidenced and approved by Shine Centre for Autism. Families of those with an ASD experience many challenges and this practical based course aims to assist those who experience same, by providing them with relevant and current information. This programme is endorsed by ‘National Parents and Siblings Alliance’ and supported by Shine
